Privacy Policy

Scope

Ruzel is a private field book for reed plume specimens. You can record collection details, photos, drying notes, sheet layouts, and a personal wetland atlas. This policy describes the current iOS app and its linked pages. The legal pages contain no analytics, cookies, or tracking scripts.

Information We Handle

Field-book content. You enter collection locations and dates, measurements, seed-shedding stage, and notes, and may add photos, spoken notes, and sheet layouts. Ruzel uses this content to provide its specimen, drying, and atlas features. Entering a collection place does not require access to your device's precise location.

Device identifier and service requests. The app creates a random UUID and sends it to the service for session, content catalog, and purchase verification requests. The service stores the UUID as an account and device identifier. The service infrastructure may also process your IP address, request time, and related request metadata.

Camera, library, and microphone. The app accesses these only when you use the corresponding feature and grant iOS permission. Selected photos and spoken notes are used for the field-book features described above. You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings.

Purchases. Apple processes in-app payments. For purchase verification and duplicate-credit prevention, the app sends the transaction identifier, product identifier, order reference, and signed StoreKit transaction information to the verification endpoint. Purchase verification details are sent to the service. Credited transactions and pending verification attempts are used to prevent duplicate credits and complete purchases. We do not receive your payment card number or Apple ID password.

Storage and Retention

Ruzel stores your field-book records, profile details, specimen photos, audio notes, and sheet layouts on its service infrastructure so these features remain available in the app. Media uploaded for your field book is encrypted. Coin balance and transaction history are used to provide purchases and layout drafts. Signing out ends the session without erasing your field book. Deleting your account requests removal of associated service records and makes unused Coins unavailable. The service may retain the device UUID and information required for session, purchase, security, or legal purposes.

Service requests and purchase verification information are processed and stored by the service and its providers. Related records may be retained as needed to operate and secure the service, handle purchases and refunds, and meet legal obligations. Contact us for requests concerning information stored by the service; records required by law may be retained.

Service Providers

Apple distributes the app and handles in-app purchases. Hosting providers deliver the support and legal pages, public app images, and encrypted field-book media, and may process access logs to deliver and protect those files. The team open platform stores field-book records and profile details and handles session, catalog, and purchase verification requests. We do not sell personal information, use advertising SDKs, or track activity across other companies' apps and websites.

Your Choices

You can edit and delete specimen records in the app, sign out, or delete your account. You may request information about data stored by the service or its deletion by emailing Ruzel@gmail.com. You can also change camera, photo library, and microphone permissions in iOS Settings. Depending on your location, additional access, correction, deletion, or appeal rights may apply.

Security

Requests use HTTPS. Field-book media is encrypted before upload to service storage. No service can promise absolute security. If a security incident requires notice under applicable law, we will provide it.
